On 19 November 2020, exclusive lifestyle brand Porsche Design published a media release introducing their new collection for 2020. Two new Porsche Design sunglasses styles featured – the P’8928 and P’8685. You can read the full media release HERE.
Ever since Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche created the 911 sports car in 1963, the Porsche brand has been synonymous with innovative design and extraordinary precision. The luxury lifestyle branch of the company – Porsche Design – was born in 1972. It includes the iconic Porsche fashion frames and sunglasses worn by celebrities from Roger Moore’s James Bond to the Kardashian-Jenner family today.
The new collection is available now at The Eye Practice in Sydney’s CPD.
The Porsche Design Sunglasses P’8928
The P’8928 is a square aviator style based on the iconic P’8478. The original was designed in 1978 by Porsche himself. The design was a world first in sunglasses in that the lenses could be changed based on personal taste or lighting conditions. It was also suitable for prescription lenses.
The new P’8928 builds on that original design to produce a modern, square version of the classic aviator. Best of all, it features an interchangeable lens design. This makes it perfect for those who need prescription sunglasses or who like to mix it up a bit; new lens colours come out every season so you can change your look without changing your favourite frame.
The Porsche Design sunglasses P’8685. Luxury without the frills
If you like to feel exclusive, the 2020 collection also features the P’8685, Hexagon Gold Limited Edition. Like previous limited releases by Porsche, this gold-plated model is for serious Porsche aficionados. It’s also perfect for those looking for something to set them apart from the pack; there are only 500 of this design available worldwide.
