How long will the examination take? |
 |
You'll need to allow about an hour. |
 |
How often should I get my eyes examined? |
 |
Every 2 years is adequate, check ups more frequently
are a good idea if there is a family history of
eye disease. |
 |
What are my options if I don't want to
wear glasses? |
 |
We can provide many alternatives to Glasses ranging
from Contact Lenses, Orthokeratology to laser vision
correction. |
 |
I have Keratoconus and my glasses just
don't improve my vision. Is there anything I can
do? |
 |
Gas permeable Contact Lenses specially designed
for Keratoconic patients are a specific interest
on the Optometrists at The Eye Practice. With some
fine tuning most people achieve functional vision
good enough to drive and work with. |
 |
I have heard there are Contact Lenses
I can sleep in that correct my short sightedness.
Is this True? |
 |
OrthoKeratology is technology that has been around
for a while but has only been refined to a highly
technical level in the last few years. A specialty
contact lens is fitted that is worn during sleep,
which flattens the cornea reducing or eliminating
the wearers short sightedness for the duration of
their waking hours. After some time patients can
go two or even three nights without wearing their
lenses and still achieve great vision. |
